## 📦 What ClawDeck Does

ClawDeck helps you control Claude Code without digging through menus or files. It is built for fast, simple use on a Windows desktop.

It can help you:

- See Claude Code status at a glance
- Launch common actions with one click
- Tile windows into clean layouts
- Keep work tools easy to reach
- Reduce time spent switching between windows

## 🪟 System Requirements

ClawDeck is made for Windows desktop use. For the best results, use:

- Windows 10 or Windows 11
- A mouse and keyboard
- A stable internet connection for the first download
- Enough free disk space for the app and its settings
- A screen with at least 1366 × 768 resolution

If you use a Stream Deck device, ClawDeck can fit into that workflow. It also works as a desktop tool for fast control from your computer.

You can use this to:

- See if Claude Code is active
- Check if the app is ready
- Spot when a task is running
- Confirm when a process is finished

### ⚡ Quick Actions

Set up buttons for the actions you use most.

Common quick actions can include:

- Open a recent workspace
- Refresh the status view
- Clear a workspace view
- Run a common command
- Switch between saved layouts

### 🪟 Window Tiling

ClawDeck can help you arrange windows in a clean layout.

Useful layouts can include:

- Side-by-side split
- Large center window with side panels
- Two-panel work view
- Focus mode with one main window
- Multi-window grid for review work

### 🧰 Easy Access Controls

The interface is built for fast use. You can keep the tools you need close by and avoid extra steps.

This is useful when you:

- Jump between tasks
- Compare output with notes
- Keep a browser open with Claude Code
- Want a clean desk view on screen

## 🖱 How to Use ClawDeck

### 1. Open the app

Double-click ClawDeck from the folder where you saved it.

### 2. Check the status

Look at the status area first. This shows if Claude Code is ready or busy.

### 3. Choose a button

Pick the button for the task you want to do.

### 4. Use window tiling

If you need more space, choose a tiling layout that fits your screen.

### 5. Keep working

Use ClawDeck as your control panel while you work in Claude Code and other apps.

## 🔧 Common Actions You Can Set Up

ClawDeck works best when you match the buttons to your own routine.

Here are some useful button ideas:

- Open Claude Code
- Show active project status
- Move the main window to the left
- Move the main window to the right
- Tile two windows side by side
- Return to a saved layout
- Refresh the status panel
- Close extra windows

You can keep the buttons simple. Short labels help you find the right action fast.

## 🧩 Tips for Better Use

- Put your most used actions on the first row
- Use short names for each button
- Keep your workspace layout simple
- Save one layout for focus work
- Save one layout for review work
- Leave space for tools you open often
- Use the app on the same monitor each day if you can

If you use a Stream Deck or a similar control pad, place the most important actions where your hand reaches them first.

## 🪛 Troubleshooting

### ClawDeck does not open

- Check that the file finished downloading
- Make sure you extracted the .zip file if needed
- Try opening the app again
- Right-click the app and choose Run as administrator

### Windows says the app is blocked

- Right-click the file
- Open Properties
- If you see an Unblock option, select it
- Try again

### Claude Code does not show status

- Open Claude Code first
- Refresh ClawDeck
- Check that both apps are running
- Close and reopen ClawDeck

### Buttons do not work

- Open the layout settings
- Check that the action is assigned to the button
- Save the layout again
- Restart the app

### Window tiling looks wrong

- Check your screen resolution
- Try a different layout
- Close extra windows before using tiling
- Use one monitor at first, then test again on more than one monitor

## 🗂 Suggested Folder Setup

A simple folder setup can make ClawDeck easier to use:

- Downloads: for the first file
- Desktop: for a shortcut
- Documents: for saved layouts
- One folder named ClawDeck: for app files and settings

Keep the app and its files in one place so you do not lose track of them later.

## 🔒 Privacy and Local Use

ClawDeck is meant to act as a local control tool on your Windows computer. It helps you manage your workflow from your own machine.

For most users, that means:

- Your actions stay on your PC
- You control when the app runs
- You choose what buttons do
- You can keep your layout simple and private

## 🧠 Best Use Cases

ClawDeck fits well if you:

- Use Claude Code every day
- Want a faster way to start common tasks
- Need a clean window layout
- Like using one control panel instead of many menus
- Want a desktop tool that keeps key actions within reach

## 📌 File and App Notes

You may see files such as:

- .exe files for the Windows app
- .zip files that contain the app
- settings files for saved button layouts
- layout files for window positions

If you are not sure which file to open, start with the Windows app file or extract the zip package first.

## 🧪 Quick Test Checklist

After setup, check these items:

- ClawDeck opens
- Claude Code is running
- The status view updates
- At least one button works
- Window tiling changes the screen layout
